I joined the West Amwell
School staff in 1997 and have had the privilege of teaching fourth grade
and sixth grade here. I am convinced that this is the best place to
teach and cannot imagine being anywhere else! The students, families,
staff and administration make coming to work a pleasure everyday.
Teaching is something
that I always wanted to do. I hope that my students know how important
they are to me. I will always encourage them to challenge themselves to
be the best that they can be. I have two wonderful children of my own
and I have supported them the same way. They have proven to me that
hard work, a positive attitude and good character will guide you to
success.
I live in East Amwell and
very much enjoy the quiet rural lifestyle. Now that our daughter is a
college graduate and our son a college student, my husband and I find
our house is much quieter than ever! This gives us more time to read,
go on nature hikes and travel. We are also actively involved in youth
sports in our area, especially the lacrosse league which my husband
founded.
Every year I am excited and invigorated by my new students and look
forward to guiding them on their journey. Sixth grade is such a special
year for the students; I enjoy watching as they make new memories.

I am thrilled to be joining the West Amwell staff. It is exciting for me to
be living and working back in my home state. I grew up and went to school
in Essex County. After graduating from Trenton State College, (now the
college of NJ) in 1993, I taught Kindergarten at a learning center in
Livingston.
I then became a third grade teacher in the South
Orange-Maplewood School District where I taught for nine years. After
getting married, my husband Jason and I, along with our cat Asti, moved to
northern Virginia for two years so he could pursue a career as an
investigator for the federal government. While there I taught fifth grade
in the Falls Church City Public Schools.
My husband’s job then moved us to
central Connecticut where I taught sixth grade in the Farmington Public
Schools. Now that we are back in NJ, we enjoy spending time with our
families and old friends.
I also enjoy taking road trips with my husband
and visiting the wonderful cities and beaches on the east coast. I look
forward to meeting my new group of students. |
