I
have been a teacher at West Amwell since 1995 and have loved every minute of
my time here. I have taught remedial, gifted and talented, computers and
for the last eight years, sixth grade. I am excited to take on the
challenge of teaching a new grade. I did my student teaching with Mr.
Jeavons in fifth grade a long time ago, and am excited to get the chance to
have my own class of fifth graders. I cannot imagine a job that is as
rewarding and fun as being a teacher. Every day is different and every year
I get a new group of great wildcats to share it with.
Outside of school, I have a wonderful husband and two incredible children
that I love to share stories about with my class. My children like to hear
the stories about my class as well. They keep me real and help me see the
humor in my world! It is important to be able to laugh at yourself and with
others. Nothing brings people together more than sharing a good laugh!
I am
currently working on my Masters Degree, so like you, I am a student. We can
commiserate together about how much homework our teacher gives us! I love
school, as a teacher and as a student, and I hope that my students leave my
class with a love of learning as well. |
My name is Przemyslaw Kowalewski. I was born and
raised in Augustow, Poland. After immigrating to the United States I
enrolled in Saint Joseph’s University where I attained my primary degree in
Labor Relations. Throughout college I was employed in a before and after
school program where I recognized how rewarding and unique working in a
school environment can be. My passion for teaching grew and I decided to
receive formal education from Rider University. While completing my studies
I worked as an M.E.L.C. teacher in the Colonial School District, Pa. I have
since married, moved to the area and was offered a position in the West
Amwell Elementary.
When school is out I take great pleasure in traveling
and exploring different places and cultures. I feel that seeing the world
enriches my mind, redefines my needs, and teaches me how to think of no one
as “them”.
When I am unable to travel I enjoy all water related
activities. Some say I must have been a fish in my other lifetime, as I
feel equally comfortable on land as I do in a river, lake, sea or an ocean.
Once all else fails, one can never go wrong with a good
book. Reading has always been a part of my life and a good story always
took me away and helped me imagine. Classical Russian literature captivated
my soul and to this day it is my favorite genre of text.
I am very
excited to be a part of the West Amwell staff and I am looking forward to
making this year an educational and enriching experience for each student in
my classroom. |
